Best Online Roulette Sites in 2024 — Strategy, RTP and Where to Play

Roulette is my main game so I've spent way too much time comparing sites and I may as well share what I've worked out.

First the strategy stuff because it needs saying: no betting system beats the house edge. Martingale, Fibonacci, D'Alembert — all of them fail in the long run because the maths doesn't care about your system. What they can do is manage your session variance and give you a structure if you find random betting stressful. But please don't go in thinking you've found a way to beat roulette. You haven't. Nobody has.

RTP is where it actually matters. European roulette has one zero and an RTP of 97.3%. American roulette has two zeros and an RTP of 94.7%. This is not a small difference over any volume of play. Never voluntarily play American roulette if European is available. French roulette with La Partage rule (half your even-money stake returned on zero) pushes RTP to 98.65% — best you'll find anywhere.

For live roulette, Evolution Gaming runs the best tables by a distance. Lightning Roulette is brilliant for entertainment — the multipliers can be genuinely exciting — but the RTP is lower than standard European because of how the multipliers are funded. If you care about RTP, stick to their standard Immersive Roulette or the French table.

Sites I use for live roulette: 888 Casino — consistently available live tables, smooth stream, never had issues cashing out Betway — good table variety including French roulette which is harder to find LeoVegas — mobile experience is excellent if you're playing on phone

For RNG roulette, honestly I barely bother but if you need to wager a bonus and want roulette, look for European single zero variants with a listed RTP above 97%.

Happy to answer questions on any of this.

The distinction between European and French roulette with the La Partage rule is one that far too many players overlook entirely. The additional 1.35 percentage points of RTP that La Partage provides may appear modest in isolation but it compounds meaningfully over extended play sessions. I would also commend your directness regarding betting systems — the persistence of the Martingale myth in particular continues to cause real financial harm to players who mistake the absence of losses in a short session for validation of the system's efficacy.

Lightning Roulette is genuinely one of those games where I intellectually know the RTP is worse than standard European but I still find myself gravitating toward it because the multiplier moments are just more exciting than watching a standard wheel spin. The 500x hits are rare enough to feel like events when they happen. That said, if I'm being sensible and playing for any meaningful length of time I'm on the standard Immersive table like you say. The entertainment value of Lightning is real but it has a price in the maths.

Betway for French roulette is a good shout, been using them for that exact reason. Also worth mentioning that some live tables have minimum bets that creep up during peak hours — late Friday night your £1 minimum table suddenly has a £5 minimum. Annoying if you're trying to play longer sessions at lower stakes.

the bit about betting systems not working is so important!! my mate was absolutely convinced Martingale was a 'strategy' and not just doubling down hoping to get lucky 😭 spent ages trying to explain the table limits problem to him. if you can always double your bet you eventually hit the max and then the system just collapses. anyway good thread this, might finally try French roulette properly
